Hello friends! Sorry this post is coming a little later than usual, I have been sick in bed all week and am finally feeling like a human being again! What started out as a bad cold turned into a massive sinus migraine that fortunately I, via the internet, seem to have found the cure for! Seriously, this was the most ridiculous experience ever, and very much off topic, but if anyone else suffers from migraines and doesn’t know this hack, I need you to have the info! I am a pretty recent migraine sufferer and mine are solely due to sinus pressure, which I have found means a lot of the usual strategies don’t work for me (like Excedrin does nothing). But yesterday I was so miserable, just laying in bed with my eyes closed, not even able to read or look at my phone for most of the day. My husband was at work and I had to put my kid to bed (luckily he is old enough to do most of that for himself) and I opened my phone, went to TikTok about to search for migraine tips and lo and behold, the first video on my screen was a neurologist talking about the science behind the McDonald’s migraine hack. I have never opened Uber Eats so fast in my life. Fifteen minutes later I had a large Coke and large fries in my hands, and y’all the relief was almost immediate. I had heard vague rumblings of this “cure” before but never really believed it, but I was desperate enough to try anything. At the time I placed the order, I was so nauseous I could barely think about eating anything, but I started with the Coke and a few minutes later ate some fries and within twenty minutes my migraine was gone. Now, YMMV, obviously, but I would not be a friend if I didn’t share!

And one reason I was so desperate to feel better (beyond the obvious) is because this weekend is the LA Times Festival of Books! This is my first official appearance at the festival after volunteering for years before I became a published author and I cannot believe this is real! If you’re coming to the festival, check the image below for where to find me!
