I, like most of the internet, have been thinking about the White Lotus finale pretty much constantly since it aired on Sunday night. There are so few occasions these days where we all come together and watch a thing either as it is happening, or shortly thereafter, and I always love a collective viewing experience. I think it speaks to the power of art, the way we all interpret characters and lines based on our own experiences, the way we theorize, the way we continue to question. And White Lotus is so interesting because it is so character driven and so many things are intentionally left unresolved because at its core, it’s a reflection of the human experience. In the opening scene of the finale, the Buddhist monk straight up says “There is no resolution to life’s questions” and that’s what makes it such a fun watch. Obviously, spoilers abound, so skip this if you haven’t watched yet, but let’s dive in! Thoughts are in a somewhat chronological order!
